I first met John Knudsen through David Feinberg in 1977. He quickly became a lifelong friend visiting me whenever
he came into town and sending me wonderful Christmas cards until he passed away. The cards were always the
highlight of my year and I have always saved his wonderful correspondence. I sincerely feel that John was the most
important and skillful artists in the latter half of the 20th century. I felt as if I personally knew Picasso. His
conversations and insights were priceless. I own four of his major prints and have memories of our discussions which
I will always reflect upon. What a great friendship. This is what being an artist is all about- the opportunity to
communicate with such a wonderful artist. I was honored by the fact that he had collected some of my work. I think
about him often and most deeply at Christmas when I can no longer receive his beautiful cards, messages, and
greetings. You had an amazing father Mike. He was also an amazing artist and for myself, a friend.
